Trip to Mortain, 2001 (To enlarge page, press F11; F11 again to shrink)
On Friday 8th June, 49 of us boarded the coach in Blandford, to be told at the last minute that the ferry Barfleur was out of action. We were diverted to Portsmouth and eventually arrived in Mortain 4 hours late.
We received a rapturous welcome and were treated immediately to a great dinner. Friendships were renewed and new friendships made.
The following morning, the Royal Signals Band paraded through the town and played in the Market Square.
