Mortain to Blandford visit, 2002 It was our turn to host Mortain this year. There were 51 visitors from Mortain, plus eight teachers from the Sacré Cœur on exchange with St Leonard's Middle School. The children performed a pageant of "Fashion through the ages" during the Georgian Fayre. The Blandford Town Council hosted a sherry party in the Corn Exchange and had on display the Town's silver; this was much appreciated by our guests who learnt from Mr David Jardine, our Mace Bearer, some of the history of Blandford and our two countries. The Mace is emblazoned with the Royal Coat of Arms, showing the Fleur de Lys of France.
